Spirit Qi is Qi that is brought in by the spirit as differentiated from qi that is gathered by the physical body or by the breathing. One’s awareness is one’s spirit or Shen. If one uses one’s awareness and attention to intake qi one is able to intake the Spirit Qi of heaven and earth. Spirit qi is of a higher quality than qi that is brought in by the breathing. One is able to absorb qi much faster as well when one uses the spirit. Not only does the qi build in one’s body but one’s primordial spirit becomes activated when one builds spirit Qi.
